A clever use of tasting tags lets visitors search for wines in the database by adjectives such as ‘fruity’, ‘smooth’ or ‘velvety’. Boys Stuff - Excellent website for gadgets and gifts. Items range from a talking remote-controlled Dalek to a satellite navigation system. You can even select stuff for girls. Brand Alley - Want to get your hands on designer gear without emptying your wallet? Of course you do. Then head down to Brand Alley to find luxury brands at discount prices. Britons walk less - The number of trips that we make on foot each year has fallen by 16% in the last decade. The same national survey found that most people recognise the health and environmental benefits of walking and agree that everyone should be encouraged to walk more. Charlies Stores has been established in the hardware and DIY sector for over 20 years. Throughout that time they have expanded their range of products and are now one of the largest independent retailers in the Mid Wales area. Classifieds is a free online classifieds service for UK users created by Shopping.net.
Doof - This colourful new social-networking site provides an online playground for avid gamers. Once you’ve created an account and set up your profile, you can jump straight into the action, and invite friends to come and join you. Doof features a variety of fun and challenging games, which range from classics such as Space Invaders to its own version of Sudoku. eConsumer - Your site for cross-border ecommerce complaints. eSwap Now - If you've got loads of old CDs, books or videos that you want to get rid of, you can see if someone wants to swap here. Simply sign-up to the service and put up the details of the items. If someone's interested in one of them you'll be informed by email, and once you've sent the item out you'll receive a credit that you can then use to request an item someone else has posted. Like eBay, this site has a feedback system, so you'll get an idea of whether those you're dealing with can be trusted or not. Not many people are signed up yet, so there aren't that many items available, but we like the idea. Exclusive London - This revamped London lifestyle site lets socialites discover and access exclusive venues and attractions in the capital. New features include My Exclusive London, which lets you create a little black book of your favourite places and share it with other members. You can also voice your views on venues you’ve visited and post photos of nights out. Expert Village - Search thousands of how-to and instructional videos from renowned experts at ExpertVillage.com. The front page lists new featured videos each day - submitted mostly by users - and 12 different categories are featured lower down the page. You can link to individual videos or embed them in a blog or website, bookmark them on Expert Village or at social bookmarkmg sites like del.icio.us or reddit (http://reddit.com), and you can also designate experts as favourites, meaning you can group videos by presenter. Extra Mile Scotland - There’s no better recommendation than word-of-mouth, that’s the principle behind ExtraMileScotland. Brainchild of two veterans of the Scottish tourism industry, the site aims to act as a platform for tourists to let others know of a service – be it a café, hotel or caravan park – that went ‘that extra mile’. At the moment there’s only a handful of recommendations on here. Find My Past - With millions of family history records online, Find My Past makes it easy to research your UK ancestry and create your family tree. Search census recobrds and trace births, marriages and deaths to bring your family history to life. First World War records go online - Documents detailing the experiences of millions of people who served in the First World War have been made available online. The collections will be put online in phases, beginning with pension records, which have been made available from 23rd Feb 2007. By the end of 2008, Ancestry.co.uk hopes to have records for 2.5 million former soldiers online. Fit for travel is a public access website provided by the NHS (Scotland). It gives travel health information for people travelling abroad from the UK. Flock.com is a social web browser. When using Flock, people can easily discover, access, create and share videos, photos, blogs, feeds and comments across social communities, media providers, and popular websites. Fondem is a new kind of search engine, with a simple mission: to significantly improve the way people search the Web for information, products, and services. They are not a retailer. ITV Local already offers news, weather, entertainment and even user-generated content from your area. Grou.ps is a platform for social groups to get together. Use it for any purpose. Choose your template and pick all the modules that you want (wiki, blogs, photos, links etc) and get your group web site without waiting. No branding, it’s free! Plus it's integrated with 3rd party services such as Flickr and YouTube. You can upload files, videos, photos and music, and access it all from any internet-linked computer around the world. Jumpcut is an online video editor and remixer owned by Yahoo. Sharing videos online has become massive over the last couple of years, thanks mainly to the likes of YouTube.
