More than a mile of the front was in carnival mood as the cream of East Anglian's musicians offered something for everyone's taste from noon to 11pm with excellent firework display at the end of the evening.

 

Street entertainers and sideshows, majorettes and morris dancers were all part of the programme. Read below more info.

 

GOLDEN JUBILEE IN FELIXSTOWE IN FELIXSTOWE FACTS & STATISTICS:

  • around 6,000 car park spaces (with park-and-ride facilities)

ENTERTAINMENT:

  • 8 main purpose-built stages (in addition to 8 small stages)

  • over 50 bands (e.g. Swagger, Krazee Horse, Lightbody, Neptune Sons, J2K Deben High-School Band, Deben Jazz Band, Gasolene Blues Band, Red Hot Radiators, Seeds of Honour, Rosco,  etc.

  • solo & duet entertainers (e.g. Chas & Dave, Words & Music, Vinko, Jamie Clarke - young talented singer who appeared 3 times during the day with "Nessun Dorma", etc.)

  • 9 brass bands (e.g. Martlesham Brass Band, Ipswich Hospital Brass Band, Salvation Army Brass Band, Woodbridge Excelsior Band, etc)

  • from 8 P.M. on Saturday 1st June till 11 P.M. on Monday 3rd of June NON-STOP there was DJ record attempt at Lixs's Nightclub (sea front) to raise funds for East Anglian Air Ambulance and Local Hospital Radio. Main beneficiary will be BERNARDOS (link).

  • firework display (it was really spectacular one)

Felixstowe's contribution to the Queen's Jubilee was a musical celebration on the grand scale.
