Let's Discover - Created by Eureka!, the museum for children, this site describes itself as a 'one-stop resource for adults to plan and prepare curriculum-driven visits for children aged three to eight'. There are fun educational games, information, activities and worksheets supporting the National Curriculum. Little Robots - The redesigned Little Robots website, based on the popular CBBC TV series, features engaging new fun in learning activities for pre-schoolers. First port of call on the site should be the giant Diplodocus skeleton, which you can enjoy in a 3D panorama in the Life Galleries section. There’s a regular schedule of educational live webcasts from the Darwin Centre, plus an archive of previous webcasts. Poetry Archive - The world's finest online collection of recordings of poets reading their own work. This site is packed with gems from the very modern to early recordings. Programming software launched for children - MIT media labs has launched software designed to make it easy for children to create stories, games, music and animation for the web. Scratch, which is free to use, gives children from the ages of eight, and upwards, the opportunity to build interactive creations using a graphic-based coding language, which has been made simple to use. Under 5s - On this site there are worksheets for the alphabet, numbers, shapes, counting, pencil control and matching. Your toddler can also try the activities and crafts including rhymes, songs and colouring, and themed learning activities. Yucky.Com - A truly magnificent site succeeding in educating and amusing kids in the world of "yucky" science. There are enough vibrant Flash graphics, games, cockroach facts and videos of worms being born (no, really) to captivate your kids for hours while you get on with the housework. Most efforts to make learning fun are shrugged off by clued-up kids as patronising drivel, but this site is a rare gem. Absolutely brilliant.
