July 03 John Malkovich in Korcula - American
actor, double-candidate for Oscar, John Malkovich and his family (wife
and 2 chldren) have visited Korcula with rented yacht Lady Jana,
owned by 'Kompas Travel Agency', yesterday.
They had guided tour around Old Town, visited small inhabited island of Stupe and at the end of the day had lovely local meal in countryside nature-oriented restaurant 'Grubinjac' near village Zrnovo. They were very impressed with Old Town, clarity of the sea, and after swimming on island Stupe, they kept on saying: "It's unbelievable!" |

A few photos of Korcula taken on my family's 10-days visit there at the end of May.
20th May 03 "Leave to Remain" is an exhibition of contemporary art in London, set out to provide visibility for participating artists and to challenge the parameters of ‘refugee art’. Check this link to see art from Edita Marelic one of very few people from Korcula that live and work in United Kingdom. Standing up: John, Luka, Senad, Odette, Igor, Ljiljana, Ivan. Front: Jessica, Lisa and Raseljka and one of family Jerichevich dogs (Roxy) peeping in. (info provided by Odette Jerichevich) Read more in Fokus in Croatian and how Nelson Mandela pays regular visits to our Croats living there. 31st Jan 03 Big freeze brings travel chaos - Snow storms and freezing temperatures have brought chaos to many of Britain's roads with trains and flights also coming to a standstill. 30th Jan 03 Winter and low temperatures are with us again. Last night temperatures were below the zero (unusual for seaside resort such as Felixstowe). This morning we had first snowflakes and within a minutes we had strong wind and blizzard conditions. Check a few photos from my house taken just a few minutes after snow started: Schools across Suffolk are being closed and roads are becoming treacherous as the snow settles. Lowestoft has been the worst affected with over a dozen schools sending pupils home when they arrived this morning. There will be regular updates on the effects of the snow on BBC Radio Suffolk. |
