5th Oct 04 American National Geographic TV Team in Korcula - National Geographic team will be in Croatia from 6th to 14th October on various locations to prepare material for "Rudy Max Smart Travels - Europe" documentary that presents the most attractive European destinations. Their travel starts at Dubrovnik then Ston, Korcula, Split, Hvar and Trogir. Special attentions will be paid to UNESCO's protected monuments and buildings. They will also document wine & olive oil making, as well as details of islands and Adriatic Sea. (Hina) |

Croatia's famous poet, Dr Drago Stambuk, gave well received recitals in Johannesburg and Pretoria. Ivo Pervan, well known photographer, held a successful exhibition entitled "Zagreb" at the Sandton Art Gallery together with South African artist Marie Theron with her beautiful paintings entitled "Timeless Charm of Croatia". |

10th Apr 04 Croatian Cultural Week in SA - SA and Croatia have signed a cultural agreement so there will be Croatian Cultural Week in SA with visitors from Croatia starting off in Cape Town and then coming up to Johannesburg. This time it will be Lidija Horvat-Dunjko soprano, Ida Gamulin pianist and the Zagreb String Quartet. Ivo Pervan is coming again to give a photo exhibition and also Drago Stambuk poet in addition to a representative from the Cultural Department. There will be more news and photos soon. 19th Mar 04 Maths Challenge News - In the recent UK Intermediate Maths Challenge some of St Albans RC School Year 9 & Year 10 pupils competed against over 180.000 students from all over UK schools. The winners are: GOLD - Ben Blaggs, SILVER - Anamarija Radonic, Jonathan Sciortino, Martin Ashby, David Heffer, Henry Herbert & Peter Russell, BRONZE - Philip Charles, Lucie McTiroy-Miller, Kate Stopher, Claire Rutteford, Alex Gillespie, Matthew Stott & Hannah Leeke. There was around 350 people (young and old) wearing various costumes and masks, having fun, dancing and singing all night. If you add to this atmosphere home-made prepared food and sweets together with okes and fun-stories from famous Ljube Šegedin "Ljubica", you wouldn't need anything else. |

29th Jan 04 Snowtime in Suffolk - Snow covered the county yesterday and today. Some schools were closed (?!), so kids enjoyed the time out, especially in Felixstowe where we still have lovely weather (it's a bit cold, but ..hey ! The sun is shinning !). Check a few photos below. |
