Queens is a
part of New York City where Zeljko and his family live. Find out
brief information about Queens. Queens is the largest in area and the second most populous of the five boroughs of New York City. Located on the western portion of Long Island, it is home to New York City's two major airports - John F Kennedy and LaGuardia, the New York Mets baseball team, the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center (home of the annual US Open), Kaufman Astoria Studios, Silvercup Studios, Flushing Meadows Corona Park, and Queens Center (the most profitable per-square-foot mall in America). Queens was an epicenter of jazz in the 1940s. Jazz greats likes Louis Armstrong, Count Basie and Ella Fitzgerald found refuge from segregation in the mixed communities of the borough, while a younger generation — Charlie Parker, Sonny Rollins, Thelonious Monk, Dizzy Gillespie, and others — were developing bebop in the clubs of Harlem. |

As soon as we have arrived, Zeljko started BBQ. I have spend lovely day talking to them and especially listening theirs son Luka excellent keyboard playing. It was nice to see them all and with these few photos I want to thank them for excellent hospitality till my next visit to them in New Jersey or in Blato (Korcula). |
